TODAY THE PRINCE OF WALES WILL LAUNCH THE PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN FOR HIS RAINFORESTS PROJECT.

We are happy to be able to send you a preview of this film, which we have spent the last year developing.

The background is that The Prince’s Rainforests Project (PRP) was founded by The Prince of Wales to help build a consensus on the way to reduce tropical deforestation. The Project has identified the need for urgent action to develop a coordinated emergency solution while we await an ultimate solution under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. To avoid catastrophic climate change it is essential to slow down rainforest clearance in order to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions deforestation causes. Rainforest deforestation is 20 percent of the climate change problem, but rainforest conservation could be 40 percent of the solution.

Raising awareness of this issue amongst the public and providing the opportunity to act is important in achieving this goal. To that end we have developed a short film inviting viewers to sign up to support the Project’s pledge to ensure that rainforests are integral to any climate change agreement by the end of this year.

We hope you like it.
